Over ons Fonds Novam Terram
Fonds Novam Terram is het door de Stichting Alvadam, als oprichter van de Vereniging Alvadam, bij die vereniging ingestelde Fonds op Naam.
Reeds in oerbronnen, waar ter wereld ook, wordt verhaald over het belang van vrijheid, gerechtigheid en menswaardige levensomstandigheden wereldwijd. Dit op de toekomst gerichte ideaal is onder andere op klassieke wijze uitgedrukt in de geschriften van Jesaja en Micha: “En het zal geschieden in de laatste der dagen (…); dan zullen zij hun zwaarden tot ploegscharen omsmeden en hun speren tot snoeimessen; geen volk zal tegen een ander volk het zwaard op heffen, en zij zullen de oorlog niet meer leren” (Jesaja 2,2a+4b). En Micha vervolgt: “En zij zullen zitten, ieder onze zijn wijnstok en onder zijn vijgenboom, zonder dat iemand hen bang maakt”(4,4a). Met dit ideaal voor ogen wordt getracht om met behulp van het Fonds Novam Terram financieel bij te dragen aan praktische programma’s van bezigheden, die de verwezenlijking van dit ideaal helpen realiseren.
